THE NORTHWEST COUNTRY COUSINS NET BYLAWS:
ARTICLE 1 MEMBERSHIP
1.1 ACTIVE
A. AN ACTIVE MEMBER SHALL BE DEFINED AS A LICENSED AMATEUR RADIO OPERATOR WHO HAS QUALIFIED FOR MEMBERSHIP AS FOLLOWS:
1. BY CHECKING INTO THE NET ON THE SAME NIGHT OF THE
WEEK FOR FOUR OUT OF FIVE CONSECUTIVE WEEKS; AND
2. WHO HAS SUBMITTED APPLICATION IN WRITING TO THE NET SECRETARY; AND
3. WHO AS SUBMITTED DUES, AS REQUIRED. TO THE NET SECRETARY.
B. WAIVER OF REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS:
1. BY REQUEST OF THE APPLICANT TO THE NET PRESIDENT; AND
2. DETERMINATION OF THE PRESIDENT SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF
ALL ELECTIVE OFFICERS.
1.2 HONORARY
A. ANY ACTIVE NET MEMBER MAY SUBMIT, IN WRITING TO THE NET PRESIDENT, THE NAME OF ANY INDIVIDUAL FOR HONORARY MEMBERSHIP.
B. VOTING ON NOMINEES FOR HONORARY MEMBERSHIP SHALL BE DURING NORMAL ELECTIONS.
C. VOTING SHALL BE BY THE METHOD OUTLINED IN THESE BY-LAWS.

ARTICLE 2 ELECTIONS
2.1 ELECTION OF OFFICERS SHALL BE HELD ANNUALLY
2.2 NOTICE OF ELECTIONS SHALL BE BY PRESIDENTIAL ANNOUNCEMENT EACH EVENING FOR TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE NOMINATIONS.
2.3 NOMINATION OF OFFICERS SHALL TAKE PLACE BEGINNING THE FIRST SUNDAY IN APRIL OF EACH YEAR AND CONTINUE THRU THE END OF NET ON THE FOLLOWING SATURDAY.
2.4 THE NET PRESIDENT SHALL DESIGNATE THREE RECORDING STATIONS TO RECORD ALL NOMINATIONS IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER:
A. CALL SIGN AND MEMBERSHIP NUMBER OF STATION MAKING NOMINATIONS.
B. CALL SIGN OF NOMINEE AND OFFICER FOR WHICH NOMINATED.
C. NOMINEES FOR FOR HONORARY MEMBERSHIP
2.5 AFTER EACH NET SESSION THE NET CONTROL SHALL DETERMINE THAT ALL RECORDING STATIONS HAVE THE SAME TALLY.
2.6 ANY ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE NET MAY PLACE IN NOMINATION, FOR A SPECIFIC OFFICE, THE NAME OF ANY ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE NET.
2.7 NOMINATIONS SHALL BE MADE OR MAY BE CHANGED AT ANY TIME DURING THE TIME PERIOD NOTED IN PARAGRAPH 2.3 OF THE BYLAWS
2.8 NOMINEES SHALL ACCEPT OR DECLINE NOMINATION AT ANY TIME PRIOR TO THE END OF NET ON SATURDAY OF THE WEEK FOLLOWING NOMINATIONS.
IN EVENT THE NOMINEE DOES NOT ACCEPT OR DECLINE, HIS OR HER NAME SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE LIST OF NOMINEES PRIOR TO VOTING.
2.9 IF NOMINATED FOR MORE THAN ONE OFFICE, THE NOMINEE SHALL ACCEPT FOR ONLY ONE OFFICE, DECLINING ALL OTHERS.
2.10 ELECTION OF OFFICERS SHALL TAKE PLACE BEGINNING THE THIRD SUNDAY IN APRIL OF EACH YEAR AND CONTINUE THRU THE END OF NET ON THE FOLLOWING SATURDAY.
2.11 EACH ACTIVE MEMBER SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ONE VOTE FOR EACH POSITION BEING VOTED ON.
2.12 MAIL BALLOTS WILL BE ACCEPTED FROM ACTIVE MEMBERS IF RECEIVED BY THE PRESIDENT NOT LATER THAN BEGINNING OF NET ON THE LAST DAY OF VOTING. PROVIDED THAT EACH BALLOT SO RECEIVED SHALL BE READ ON THE NET AND RECORDED AS PROVIDED IN PARAGRAPH 2.4 OF THE BY-LAWS. THIS SHALL ALLOW ACTIVE MEMBERS TO VOTE BY MAIL WHEN UNABLE TO BE ON THE NET.
2.13 PRIOR TO VOTING, THE PRESIDENT SHALL APPOINT THREE RECORDING STATIONS FROM AMONG THE ACTIVE MEMBERS NOT RUNNING FOR ELECTIVE OFFICE.
2.14 THE RECORDING STATIONS AND THE NET CONTROL STATION SHALL RECORD THE VOTING IN THE MANNER OUTLINE IN PARAGRAPH 2.4 AND 2.5 OF THE BY-LAWS.
2.15 THE CANDIDATES WHO RECEIVE THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF VOTES FOR THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICES SHALL BE DECLARED ELECTED.
2.16 THE PRESIDENT SHALL CAST THE DECIDING VOTE IN CASE OF A TIE.
2.17 THE NEW OFFICERS SHALL ASSUME OFFICE ON THE FIRST SUNDAY IN MAY.
ARTICLE 3 VACANCIES AND QUESTIONS NOT CONTROLLED BY THE BY-LAWS
3.1 VACANCIES
A. IN CASE OF THE DEATH, REMOVAL OR RESIGNATION OF THE PRESIDENT, THE VICE PRESIDENT SHALL BECOME PRESIDENT AND SERVE AS SUCH UNTIL THE NEXT REGULAR ELECTION.
3.2 RECALL
A. TEN OR MORE ACTIVE NET MEMBERS MAY SUBMIT, IN WRITING, TO ALL OFFICERS FOR THE NET A REQUEST FOR RECALL OF A SPECIFIC OFFICER(S).
B. THE NET PRESIDENT, OR NEXT RANKING OFFICER, SHALL SERVE NOTICE OF ELECTION WITHIN ONE WEEK FOLLOWING
RECEIPT OF A RECALL REQUEST.
C. THE ELECTION OF RECALL SHALL BE PER ARTICLE 2 OF THE BYLAWS PARAGRAPHS 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.11, 2.13, 2.14, 2.15, 2.16
D. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SPECIFIC DATES NORMAL ELECTION TIME SEGMENTS WILL APPLY.
3.3 QUESTIONS NOT CONTROLLED BY THE BY-LAWS
A. THE NET PRESIDENT SHALL DECIDE ALL QUESTIONS NOT CONTROLLED BY THE BY-LAWS.
ARTICLE 4 AMENDMENTS
A. THESE BY-LAWS MAY BE AMENDED AS REQUIRED BY THE MEMBERS.
ANY SUCH PROPOSED AMENDMENT SHALL BE READ ON THE NET FOR PRIOR TO ANY VOTING. VOTING SHALL BE RECORDED AS PROVIDED
IN ARTICLE 2.4 AND 2.5; EACH MEMBER VOTING SHALL INDICATE
BY A DEFINITE YES OR NO VOTE THAT HE OR SHE CONCURS WITH OR DOES NOT CONCUR WITH THE AMENDMENT. A MAJORITY OF THE MEMBERS VOTING SHALL DECIDE THE ISSUE.
ARTICLE 5 OFFICERS
5.1-1 AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
PRESIDENT:
A. THE PRESIDENT SHALL HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF SECURING
A SITE FOR THE NET PICNIC AGREEABLE WITH MEMBERSHIP.
B. APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF PRIZES AND PROCURING SAME FOR THE PICNIC.
C. SEEKING TO THE PURCHASING OF THE FOOD AS NEEDED AND
ASKING FOR ASSISTANCE AS NECESSARY.
VICE PRESIDENT:
A. BACKS UP THE PRESIDENT WHEN HE OR SHE IS NOT AVAILABLE.
B. KEEPS UP WITH THE NET CONTROLS AND TO MAKE SURE THERE IS
ONE ON DUTY.
SECRETARY-TREASURER:
A. RECEIVES LETTERS FROM THE NEW MEMBERS AND MAKES OUT
ALL THAT IS NEEDED FOR THE NEW MEMBER TO MAIL.
READS THE LETTERS ON THE NET.
B. KEEPS UP WITH BANK ACCOUNT.
C. HELPS WITH PRIZES FOR THE ANNUAL PICNIC.
